1930's Gibson Hawaiian Acoustic (USA)
Windmill Guitars is delighted to offer this rare 1930's Gibson Hawaiian / Roy Smeck Model. This is a fine example of Gibson's acoustic guitar building around the time of the Great Wars. The guitar features a large body constructed in the 1930s and headstock from the mid-1940s identical to the Roy Smeck Model.
This would indicate that the instrument was finished immediately after WW2 with the "new" style headstock. It was then known as a Gibson Hawaiian. These guitars came (as the Roy Smeck models) prepared for fretting, but not fretted. The previous owner had this carried out at his request by Sam Irwin @ Lowden Guitars.
Guitar is currently set up for slide but action could be lowered for regular tuning. Includes hardshell case
